On the Main Stage in front of a full house of 475 attendees, Neighborhood Housing Services of the Lehigh Valley, Inc. (NHS) welcomed everyone to the 1st Annual NHSLV “Opening Doors Gala” at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival at DeSales University on Sunday, June 22nd. Opening comments were given by NHS Executive Director Stacy Milo and NHS Board President David Grow.

Prior to the performance of “Fiddler on the Roof”, Gala sponsors were treated to a Back Stage Tour and a Pre-Show Reception with a variety of appetizers and beverages, including Moscow Mule and White Russian signature drinks.

The performance was excellent, performers were of the finest quality, costumes and accompanying music were excellently presented, and the storyline was engaging and significant.

During an extended intermission, guests were invited to enjoy decadent desserts including Ghirardelli Gourmet Brownies, Coronettes, Jewish Apple Cake, and more.

The evening ended with the final scene of “Fiddler on the Roof” as Tevye and his family leave their homeland and head off for America, and after a roaring round of applause and a standing ovation, guests made their way out into the cool of the evening. Lingering guests, still pleased and excited about the Gala, stayed to offer their words of thanks and support and to express their enjoyment at such a wonderful event.

The 1st Annual NHSLV “Opening Doors Gala” proved to be a worthwhile event and the NHS Board and Staff are pleased with the success and the efforts of all those involved in the planning and running of this inaugural event.
